Who You Deal With

Roles, Not Names

We don't put names or faces on this page. It's a small operation, the same few people cover every job, and a photo of somebody who moved on last spring helps nobody. Plenty of junk-car sites fill a team page with stock portraits and invented job titles, and we'd rather tell you what each person does all day.

Here's the chain a car goes through with us, from the first call to the recycler in Tavares.

The Person Who Answers

Picks up at (352) 290-2082, asks what the car is and what's wrong with it, and gives you a price. Keeps an eye on what scrap steel is bringing this month and on which engines are worth more than their weight, so the quote reflects the market rather than a guess.

The Driver

Runs the flatbed from S Bay St out to wherever the car is, anywhere from Astor down to Howey-in-the-Hills. Handles the winch when the car has sunk into a sandy side yard, checks that the vehicle matches what was described on the phone, signs the bill of sale with you, and hands over the payment.

The Title Desk

Somebody has to make sure the paperwork is right before a car can be recycled. That's the person who reads your title and checks for a recorded lien. It's also who walks you through HSMV form 82101 when the paper copy is lost, or form 82137 when an older car has no title at all. If the Lake County Tax Collector is going to want something extra, you hear it from this desk before the truck is sent.
